...Family and friends, our steady jobs, a newly rennovated house, and all the things great and small that happen on a daily basis that sometimes we forget to take in and enjoy. Our Thanksgiving this year was more complete than ever with a full house and a LOT of activity. We started off the day by preparing some food and hanging out as a family. Mia watched some of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and we managed to sneak a walk through the neighborhood before our guests arrived.
Soon our friends started arriving, food started to pile up and the party began. Jess, Dale, Jackie, Andrew, Ben and Amanda came over and we ate, watched football, ate, played, watched more football, ate. And then Mia delcared that she wanted to have a dance party. The music started pumping and she managed to ask all the guys to dance with her. Later, the girls and Ben joined in and we all went a little crazy-- each trying to out dance the other.
Then Texas beat a&m.
Bernadette joined us later in the evening and spent the rest of the weekend with us. The next day, she helped us decorate our Christmas tree, make sugar cookies and wild rice soup. While we certainly took on more ativities than we were ready for, and our house was a chaotic mess, we had a great time. Mia was all wound up yelling, "I'M READY FOR CHRISTMAS!!!" over and over again and we couldn't help but feel a little bit of the magic that only children can hold onto during the holiday season.
As if we didn't already have a busy weekend we headed up to the Balitmore Aquarium. Bernadette had never been and Mia was hoping to see the dolphin show again. We got there just in time to see the dolphins and then walked around for while before heading to P.F. Changs for lunch. We must have tuckered out the kids because all three of them (yes, we did make Bernadette wake up early that morning) zonked out in the back seat. Cute, cute, cute! In fact, we all got a little nap when we got home. Later that evening, Mia and Bernadette frosted the sugar cookies and we drove Bernadette back to Georgetown. Mia was bummed that we didn't go inside her dorm but it was late.
