Our Generation Vol. 1 No. 33 Let it Snow, and Snow!!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow about 20 inches! The storm of 2009 hit us fast and hard on a weekend that Mommy and Daddy had planned to have an overnight date. Friends, Jackie and Jess, were all excited to babysit so we could go to the Kennedy Center but... it snowed and kept snowing for almost two straight days, thus shutting down the entire city. During this very white winter weekend, we made the most of it and bundled up, hit the hills with the sled, made warm noodle soup and spent time as a family. Oh yeah, and there was some late night shoveling too!

When we weren't outside playing and getting cold, we were inside warming up in front of the fire... and playing. Mia and Benjamin posed for pictures while making great fun out of newspapers. You should have seen the living room after that!

Later that night, the snow started to pile up even more but that didn't stop Santa from making an early pit stop to our house. He had heard that we'd be in Arizona for the holidays and wanted to make sure that Mia and Ben got a little something fun to play with. Mia got a Dora the Explorer kitchen and Ben got a stand and play interactive toy.

Since Santa made his early visit, we decided to have our family Christmas. The kids enjoyed opening and playing with their presents and we had so much fun watching them. Later we hit the Brookmoor slopes for more sledding with friends.

While we were out sledding a neighbor stopped us and gave us a super dooper sled for babies. We put Ben in it and immediately he started kicking and waving his hands. He must have liked the idea of sitting up on his own rather than leaning on his big sister. Well, he had SUCH a blast that he eventually fell alseep... who does that? (Ben does!)
