Mommy had a wonderful opportunity to take Mia to the Symphony with Elaine, Owen, Andrew, Claire and Luke. Daddy and Allen decided to stay behind and let baby Nora and Benjamin have a play date. Mia was so excited that she got all dressed up and insisted on wearing her shades as we drove to Capitol Hill. We met up at Allen and Elaine's, had some tasty snacks and walked a few blocks to the Atlas Theatre. We got there just in time for the "Petting Zoo" where the musicians were walking around and letting kids play with their intruments. Mia loved the timbali drum as well as all of the percussion instruments (deep down she is a Perry and drumming runs in our blood!). The trombone freaked her out a little because it was too loud. Mia, Luke and Owen loved sitting in the funny seats that tried to eat them as we watched the orchestra perform many numbers. The conductor was fantastic- she explained the types of instruments and background behind each musical piece. We sure had a great time!

Mia News: We've noticed that Mia seems to be a bit more emotional than usual. Sometimes every little thing will set her off into a wail and she will be inconsolable. Perhaps it is a combination of things... potty training, almost three, little brother is suddenly more of a cute little human rather than alien newborn... we don't know. We're trying to help her to use her words and take deep breaths. She did such a phenominal job coping with all the of the major transitions we've had last spring/summer that it's no wonder that it all caught up with her. She's had a few more bouts with lung congestion and we're working with her doctors to use preventative treatments to help her breathe better.
Ben News: Ben is a mover and a shaker. He likes to pull himself up to a stand (with help) and laughs a ton when we help him stand and hang on the the toy ottoman. Oh, and Ben really, really, loves yogurt. Does that surprise anyone?
