Things are getting back to normal after this week's scare. Ben is just being Ben and is happy to be getting some bouncy time. If you recall, Mia had a similar prop to help her reach the floor and we couldn't resist taking the same picture with the tiny little feet balancing on the phone book. The bouncer brought back many great memories we've had with Mia and an excitement for Ben to be achieving many milestones in the months to come. We have to add that we are very proud of Mr. Smiles- he's been sleeping in his own crib in his own room like a big boy. Way to go Benjamin!
Ben is growing like a weed and sleeping better every day. He loves his hands so much that he's tried to eat his entire fist twice causing him to spit up all over Daddy...twice!. He could just munch on his little fingers for hours. He's also starting to bat at and grasp some of his rattles. Tummy time is getting easier for him. He can lift his head and chest off the ground and is starting to wiggle back and forth. It's only a matter of time before we see consistent roll overs and then crawling...uh-oh!
Mia is getting used to her treatments. If she feels congested, she'll ask for one and helps out with holding the mouth piece and turning the machine on and off. The best part about the treatments is that she gets to watch movies! We've been watching the "Sound of Goat" (that's what she calls it) you know, the Lonely Goatherd puppet show scene in The Sound of Music, over and over again. We had a doctor's visit this morning and we just have to do a few more days of medicine, treatments as needed and soon we should be back to normal. The good news is that we are now prepared for any future wheezing which should help her to stay more comfortable and get over any future colds with more ease.
One more thing to note: steroids can be evil. We now know what "climbing the walls" really means.
She is feeling so much better that we were approved to go to a classmate, Finnegan's birthday party. We started out at the park and then walked to his house for cake and more play time. We were all impressed with his daddy who built the amazing tree house below. To get up to it, you have to walk the "Planks of Death" which you'll see daddy helping Mia to do. This has inspired us to try to find a place for some kind of tree house for the kids. Anyone interested in helping us build one?
