Our Generation Vol. 1 No.6 1, 2, 3, to the ZOO

This picture just about sums up our last three months of living out of suitcases. We faired well but had to be flexible and it sure was exhausting! Mia actually fell asleep paging through The Economist on one of our last nights in the basement and this is how we found her...hmmm. With all the transitions behind us, we are able to relax a little... 1. 2. 3. to the ZOO!

Last weekend we attended the 2nd Annual CFSAN Baby Day at the Zoo with many of Brad's friends from work. It was a beautiful day at the National Zoo and we got there early (even found a parking spot up close!). Mia enjoyed the panda exhibit and the baby elephant bath. We later made our way down to the gorillas, orangutans, and later...ice cream. We just so happened to bump into our friends, Allen, Elaine and Owen and spent some of the day with them. We decided to become FONZ members (Friends of the Zoo) so we can take advantage of special events, free cookies and best of all- free parking! When we asked Mia what her favorite part was she said, "I liked the elephant bath and elephant poo". No doubt, the elephant going to the bathroom was quite impressive-- as he pooped he bumped his rear end against the wall to help it out!

We've been living upstairs for the last week and boy do we all love it! Mia thinks her room is the best and so is her big girl bed. She even took a record 4 1/2 hour nap in it. Mommy and daddy love their new bed and new furniture. Daddy and Mia put Ben's crib together. Ben likes his crib and gets excited when he's in his room. Not to mention, we all get our own space in our bathrooms. We are so lucky to have been able to move up this past week as Mia just started going to daycare part time. She gets to stay home with mommy and Ben three days a week for the summer. It sure helps to have some extra space!

Mia's funny quotes of the week:

While driving on the beltway, "Mommy where are all the red, yellow and greens?" (she was looking for stoplights)

Mommy: "Hey Mia what do you want to drink water or milk?"
Mia: "It's Mija, Tata calls me that!"

Mia: "I want to play with the phone!"
Mommy: "Mia please don't, it's not a toy- you have plenty of toy phones to play with."
Mia: "Mommy, it's JUST PRETEND!"

Ben's 2 month stats:
height: 24 inches
weight: 10 lbs. 14 oz
head circumference: 15 1/4 inches

Here are some pictures of the crib assembly. It was all great fun until... we had to inform Mia that she wasn't sleeping in it and that it belonged to Ben. She had a difficult time letting go and now we've learned not to allow her into the crib anymore. Hey, you live and you learn right?
