And a happy Sunday to you, and you, and you (and you)!
Spring has FINALLY sprung here in Silver Spring. It's arrival is a great news, not so great news story in the Brown house. The great news is that Mia and her parents and canine sisters can now enjoy the beautiful sunshine, temps in the 70s, and the green and pink and white and red and purple and blue and yellow exploding out of the ground and the trees. The not so great news is that Mia "Houdini" Brown, thanks in large part to her parents too fond of sleep to break her of the habit earlier, relies on a "double swaddle" (that's a thin stretchy swaddle blanket on the inside to really tie the arms down, and a thicker stiffer blanket on the outside to cement everything in place) to stay asleep in her crib for more than 5 minutes at a time. As you can imagine, this was a perfect arrangement when the temperature outside was 40 or 50 degrees, but not so great anymore. Anyway, a "Miracle Blanket" is on its way via express mail.
This week, sleeplessness aside, Mia has achieved the impossible: she is even cuter than last week! Her smiles are happening more often and lasting longer, so we actually captured some good ones on film -- get ready to melt and for the irresistible urge to squeeze something soft. She is starting to enjoy "Mia time" more this week. She can hang out in her swing or pack n' play, just her and a mobile and maybe a pacifier, while Mommy and Daddy get stuff done around the house. In honor of spring, Mia wore her first dress (a present from cousin Melia) yesterday to her first outdoor bbq. She's also developing a fondness for the hammock.
See you next week!
