Our Generation Vol. 1 No. 15 Everyday Happenings

We started out the week with Mia's first trip to the dentist. We were more than impressed by the large school bus play center in the waiting room and a welcome sign for new patients that had Mia's name. The blond girl (below) explained all of the instruments to Mia and even painted her nails with the dye that shows plaque build-up. The hygienist was able to give Mia's teeth a good scrubbing and although Mia was more than shy in the beginning, she soon had the entire staff, including the dentist singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". Thanks to this very positive and fun experience, we now have Mia allowing us to help her brush her teeth like the dentist says, and she even gets to use toothpaste! What a big girl she is... we just need to teach her to spit it out now. Ben had so much fun watching his big sister that he ended up sleeping through most of it.

Dinner time is a lot of fun now that we've taken back our dining room. It was used as the major storehouse of furniture and boxes during our house renovations and now we finally found time to clean it up. Here you see Mia and Ben trying out a new way of eating... Ben sits on the table and Mia faces him. They sure do have fun!

We can't forget to mention that Ulla celebrated her 5th birthday! We sang her a big "happy birthday" song and Mia got to give her a present. Ulla loved her new treats.

Sometimes, we just like to be silly as you see below with Mia and Ben in headbands. We'll be sure to show these pictures to Ben's prom date.

Mia had her gal pal, Lydia, over for some wild and crazy coloring and chasing fun. The girls had SUCH a good time that they both took very long naps afterwards.

We got a chance to check out Andrew, Claire and Luke's new digs in Chevy Chase near Bethesda. Mia and Luke were the talk of the town as they road through downtown Bethesda on their way to have a Malaysian dinner. Dinner was absolutely fantastic but we still managed to save room for ice cream. The kids got to eat their ice cream in the wagon on the way home as they toured through an impressive underground tunnel. Again, Ben slept through most of this! ;)

The dog days of summer are here and what better way to celebrate then to head to the pool and BBQ. We sure had a great time hanging out with friends: Allen, Elaine, Owen, Andrew, Claire, Luke, Jess, Brandon, Sarah, Vivian, Sharon, Mandy, Scott and Lucas. We sure know how to party.
