We had a tiresome week back to work/school because we were all still on vacation in our heads. But the BCS Championship game gave us something in the short term to look forward to. We invited Jackie and Andrew to watch the game with us and had a great time getting ready for Texas to take the stage. For a few glorious minutes of that game it really looked like The Horns had Bama on the run. Then Colt got hurt. And they still almost won. Sigh.
The weather has been so frigid these days so we ventured out to the library for some good story books. Mia had been wanting to go to the library for some time now and we finally had a chance to go. She had the most fun, not reading, but standing on the step stool and pulling books off the shelf (sometimes more than she could carry). Ben had a great time playing with the toys and crawling around the colorful carpet.
Mia update: Mia can recognize letters in books, on signs, and on just about anything. She's showing an interest in writing some letters too. She writes her name very clearly and is very helpful around the house. She helps us set the table, clear the table, clean up toys and keeps Ben entertained.
Ben update: Ben has turned into a speed crawler. Not only does he crawl, he also scoots, cruises, stands and dives into toy bins (sometimes resulting in cries because he can't get out). He claps any time we say, "Yeah!" and waves his hand if someone waves back.
