Our Generation: Vol. 1 No. 2 Ben's First Month with Us

Abi and Tata came to visit once they heard word of Benjamin's arrival. Abi came a few days before Tata to help us take care of Mia. They had so much fun together. Mommy, Daddy and Ben came home a few days later from the hospital just in time for Tata to get here, then the real celebration occurred. We had a nice welcome home party with all of us and Jackie, Andrew, Jess and Dale.

Ben had his first doctor's visit. Big sister Mia came along with her stethoscope to help diagnose how he was doing.

We also enjoyed a few warmer days just in time for Easter. Mia and her Abi and Tata made sugar cookies, decorated Easter eggs, hunted for eggs, liked what the Bunny brought, and ate a ton of chocolate. We also had fun just watching Ben!

We also had a nice visit from Allen, Elaine and Owen. They came over to hang out and play. Mia and Owen had a ball on the swing set and laughed as they kicked off their boots into the air.

Mia is definitely loving the birthday party circuit as she attended Luke's 4th birthday at Wheaton Regional Park with trains and a carousel and Aidan's 3rd birthday at Silver Star Gymnastics. These parties were SO much fun!

It's hard to believe that it's already been a month since our little guy has joined our family. He's now measuring at 9 lbs. 3 oz, 21 inches long and his head circumference is 14.5in. He's adapting nicely to our family and our transitional life. He has a simple routine at this point: eat, poop, sleep. While he doesn't do too much yet, he is trying hard to lift his head, stretch out his legs, bat at his lion rattle, and coo more.

Oh yeah, and we are making progress on the potty and we still love bath time!

We are very much looking forward to a visit from Grandma and Grandpa Brown next month, Aunt Kari and Uncle Doug around July, and the Perrys and Camachos in August. Cousin Bernadette will also be moving here soon so she can attend Georgetown.

Please come and visit us soon if you can!

Our Generation: Vol. 1 No. 1 Meet James Benjamin Brown

Welcome to the family Baby Brother Ben!
James Benjamin Brown joined our family on April 5, 2009 at 6:11am.
He was 7 lbs. 5 oz. and 19 3/4 in. long.
We are thrilled to have welcomed Ben to the world. Mia is excelling at big-sisterhood by showing her love for Baby Brother Ben (kisses on his forehead, touching his hands and saying, "I want to hold he!"), bringing us diapers during diaper changes, telling us what he needs ("He needs a pacifier!", "Move his car seat Mama") and by telling mommy what his name is (Mommy likes to call him Benjamin but Mia says, "No mommy, it's Ben!"). Big sister Ulla is doing great too even though she's been domoted back to being #3 again.
Ben seems to be a pretty easy going little guy so far. We are very much looking forward to watching him grow and become a little person.

A very special thanks goes out to Jackie for her endless help staying overnight to watch Mia while we went to the hospital. Also for keeping her entertained throughout the day until Abi could arrive. Andrew was a big help too!

Last Dia de Mia Post- Here's What You Missed...

We left off with Mia's turning two and a remodel of our house about to begin. Well, since then we've been quite busy. Even though we didn't have use of our home computer, we did manage to chronicle our past few weeks with pictures. So here's a stab at trying to get y'all caught up on the Browns...

We'll start with some pictures of our beloved house and how it has transformed-note that Mia has a purple room that she is very excited about. There are some pipes that stick through her closet so the workman tried to conceal it by building her a little chair just her size. We have a feeling that we might find her hiding in her closet every now and then! Ben's room is the blue room and ours is Khaki.

Here's a little bit of Mia being cute just being Mia (enjoying her last few days as an only child).

Isabel's 2nd birthday party was a blast- but Ulla wore the party hat longer that Mia did!

Fun at our "Blue House"- home away from home near Jackie and Andrew. Mia's favorite part about living here was that there were playgrounds EVERYWHERE!

And then... our lives changed once more...
